Time of War

Who is sending our young men away?
To pay the price for our government,
The young men don't have a say,
On anything to do with war.

They don't choose where they go,
To another country far away,
To a place they don't even know,
A foreign land, another world.

Why should they risk their lives?
Fighting for things that don't affect them,
Maybe it's just the times,
But not all things change over time.

Dead Men

In the trenches, in the mud,
Our soldiers sit there waiting for battle.
With their ammo, with their guns,
Waiting on their deaths.

When the battle begins, you can't see a thing,
The enemy forces are moving in.
Which type of gas did the enemies bring?
It doesn't matter, it kills everything.

After the battle, nothing is right.
The injured and dead lay on the ground.
With everything quiet, nothing in sight,
They lay forgotton, lost, and sad.
